San Diego Shores 14i Girls battled 4 quarters with Extreme, the favorite in their grouping, and came away victorious with a late goal winning 4-3. While the game was won as a team and everybody did their part, one name stands out for excellence tonight. Goalie Meghan Engh stopped several point blank shots, held strong when short handed and dished a breakaway assist to help keep Shores in the lead. Aware that goals were hard to come by against an opponent like Extreme, Engh buckled down and defended the cage in what has to be one her best games ever.
Congratulations to both boys and girls on spectacular day 1 tournament play.
