Boys and Girls suffer first loss of tournament.

The Shores boys 14u faced off against a very skilled United team that was considered by many the favorite going into the tournament. In a hard fought game that was much closer physically than the score would indicate, Shores lost 11-4.

On the girls side of the pool, Shores faced off against a quick, smart, and feisty Commerce team that rarely makes mistakes. Commerce struck on their first possession and never let go of the lead. Trailing 2-1 at the half, Shores was unable to generate any offense as the speed of the Commerce team held the bigger, stronger Shores scorers in check. Commerce picked up only two more goals in the second half, but it was enough to defeat Shores today by a score of 4-1.

Both teams are guaranteed a spot in the Top 4 tomorrow and both have a backdoor into their respective Championship games with a win in the morning.

Go Shores and see you on the medal stand.
