Local Automotive Enthusiast is Changing Perceptions

Josh Aispuro is an active car community enthusiast and is currently in the process of becoming a member of Team Showpow. His Integra is cleanly modified and has all of the makings of becoming a fan favorite in the upcoming show season.

Tired of negative media coverage, unwarranted police profiling stops, and overpublicized street racing incidents that are typically not connected to car enthusiasts, Josh has taken a stand for auto lovers. He is currently organizing a food drive for a local shelter and shows the leadership qualities that can bring a positive reaction to the car scene in the eyes of the community.

The canned food drive will take place at De Anza Cove on November 15th at 11 A.M. This is being promoted on various automotive forums including SDRev, a local forum for automotive enthusiasts, and will include a barbecue, games for the kids and the kids at heart, and the acceptance of non perishable food donations to be given to a local San Diego homeless shelter to provide Thanksgiving meals for the less fortunate.

There are those who talk about how great they are, and then there are guys like Josh, who go out and prove it.

Here are some photos of his car from a community fundraising effort that Josh organized to help my daughter achieve a goal and be able to compete in the Speedo Cup.

San Diego Shores Hosts Annual Pumpkin Party at La Jolla Cove

The San Diego Shores invited players and family members to the La Jolla Cove for an evening of fun, comraderie, and festivities as Halloween approaches. The crowd of nearly 200 people enjoyed pizza and a variety of desserts to go along with many contests.

Children had the opportunity and were encouraged to participate in several contests which included three different categories of pumpkin carving, crowning winners in scariest, goofiest, and most original. There was also a pumpkin seed spitting contest in which participants were required to pick a pumpkin seed fresh out of the carved pumpkins and spit it for distance.

The main goal of the evening was to give players, parents, and families a chance to come together and have a great time in a relaxed, family oriented setting. This is surely a favorite event of parents and coaches alike.

San Diego BMW enthusiast acquires rare Dinan 3 piece wheels.

These wheels are reported by Dinan, a BMW performance company, to be one of only 50 sets ever made. The owner of the car said he found the wheels being sold in Palmdale, CA for a mere $500. He made the trip to pick them immediately, and by the looks of these beauties on the car, it was well worth it.

The wheels originally came on 50 of the Dinan performance package 850iL's that were made in 1989. A testament to getting the most for your money, and very rare set of wheels that you may see in person on the streets of San Diego.

The car isn't too shabby either.
